Marriage, how did I get into this thing? It must have been the passion, some might feel. How sweet and innocent she appeared. I wanted to conquer and satisfy myself. How handsome and protective he seemed. I wanted to have him at my side forever and give him myself readily. Is this love?
Passion is the spark that lights up the fire of love between people. It creates for many a start to great attachment, a sense of true love. Others suffer in time with a sense of loss as the fire of passion cools. Then I’ll be putting up with him (her).
The lesson for me is to enjoy passion as it arises but give daily attention to nurturing a love for each other.
