A SAFE 2025

There are many resolutions to choose from, abundance, better
relations, improved health, or a new job. But let’s not forget safety.
We may feel comfortable and safe in our homes, but many
injuries occur there. Here is a mini checklist that can prevent
accidents.
1. Prevent falls. Mop up all wet surfaces. If you have frail
people in the home, install grab bars strategically. Remove
clutter from passageways. Remove slippery mats and rugs.
2. Chemicals. Seal and secure all chemical containers. Keep
them out of reach of young children and pets.
3. Electric. Don’t overload the system with multiple extension
cords. Replace or discard frayed wiring. Water can be a
hazard near electric appliances and equipment. ‘
4. Your car. Never run it in a closed garage. Keep it properly
maintained. Obey safety regulations and be a cautious
observer.
5. Medications. Know the proper dose and the nature of the
pharmaceuticals your family member may be taking.
Dispose of unneeded or out-of-date products. Handle
supplements with care as well.
6. Recreational drugs and alcohol. Avoid all if possible.
Overdosing is deadly, get help if you are addicted.

Be sensible. Protect your loved ones from injury.
