Many Gathas have been written since ancient times. Gathas
are short, mindful recitations, usually practiced in silence. Some
Zen followers favor them as support in their quest for awareness.
Some may prefer to write their own.

UPON WAKING UP
Awakening I smile at the world.
A new 24 hours are here for me.
I will live fully with each moment.
EMOTIONS
I’m at ease with my feelings.
Nothing disturbs my peace.
I breathe deeply.
AT BEDTIME
I let go of all the tensions and worries.
Breathing in, I’m full of love.
Breathing out, I feel at peace.
