Often people become fixed on a problem or negative feeling.
Think of a river flowing over rocks and turns. It doesn’t stop
because of obstructions. Productive and happy days will appear
as we let go of negativity. It is wise to emphasize agreements
that create harmony.
Sharing a problem. Once I remember being in a hurry for a
meeting. I rushed my morning routine, dressed, and dashed to the
front door. “See you later,” I said, with a quick kiss. She answered
as always with, “I love you.”
Returning, I hoped she wouldn’t be upset with me for the
messy bathroom I had left earlier. I should note that Geri likes
everything in its place.
“How was your meeting?” she asked.
“Okay, how was your day, sorry I left –“
“Everything is put away. Might give yourself more time in the
future,” she said.
“Yeah, you’re right – what’s for dinner.”
A negative reply would have found two people on defense.
Instead, the problem was addressed pleasantly.
